Key Responsibilities Treatment Room & Clinical Duties Deliver high-quality nursing care in line with practice protocols and national guidelines Wound care, suture removal, venepuncture and management of minor injuries Administration of medications, including antipsychotic depot injections Immunisations and vaccinations, including childhood, flu, shingles and travel vaccines Perform ECGs, spirometry and other diagnostic tests Cervical cytology and screening procedures Health checks including BP, BMI, and cardiovascular risk assessments Respond to medical emergencies including anaphylaxis and resuscitation Maintain safe storage, handling and stock control of vaccines and medications Support infection prevention and control standards Chaperone and assist clinicians where required Participate in occasional home visits where appropriate Chronic Disease Management Support the management of long-term conditions including: Asthma & COPD Diabetes and pre-diabetes Coronary Heart Disease Mental Health conditions Run and support disease-specific clinics Contribute to QOF targets and patient recall systems Health Promotion & Screening Deliver proactive and opportunistic health promotion, including: Smoking cessation Weight management Alcohol and substance misuse Support screening programmes: Cervical screening New patient and NHS health checks Child and adult immunisation programmes Professional & Administrative Duties Maintain accurate, contemporaneous clinical records using the practice clinical system Maintain accurate, contemporaneous clinical records using the practice clinical system Actively participate in practice meetings and clinical audits Engage in continuous professional development and annual appraisals Contribute to the development of practice policies, protocols and services
