A well-established and highly regarded special school in Dudley is seeking an experienced SEN Teacher to join their team for the summer term. The school supports pupils with a range of complex learning needs and is known for its child-centred approach, strong leadership and commitment to inclusive, high-quality provision. Staff work closely together to ensure pupils feel safe, supported and able to engage positively in their learning.Your new roleThis is a part-time teaching role within a specialist setting, supporting a small class of pupils with complex additional needs. Pupils are primarily primary-aged, and the curriculum is highly personalised, focusing on communication, independence and emotional development alongside academic learning. The school offers a structured, nurturing environment with strong pastoral support.Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering highly differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs
  • Creating a calm, consistent and nurturing learning environment
  • Working closely with teaching assistants and therapists to support pupils effectively
  • Supporting pupils with communication, emotional regulation and sensory needs
  • Contributing to EHCP outcomes and maintaining clear progress records

What you'll need to succeed

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience working within a special school or SEN setting
  • Confidence supporting pupils with complex needs, including communication and sensory difficulties
  • A patient, resilient and compassionate approach
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work collaboratively with support staff and leaders
