Vacancy Detail
This is a great opportunity to join the Vehicle Solutions team at Motability Operations. We are recruiting new apprentices to join our growing team at our state of the art repair centre in Coalville.

During the programme, you will work towards a Level 3 Vehicle Damage Paint Technician or Panel Technician qualification, depending on your chosen pathway. Alongside classroom based off site block release training, you will quickly gain practical skills and real work experience. You will learn while you earn, supported by experienced senior technicians who will mentor you throughout your apprenticeship.

Qualifications Required
Minimum criteria
You will need all of the following:

Commit to your apprenticeship for three years
Functional Skills Level 2 or above in Maths and English
Be able to complete classroom based, online and on the job training
Be willing to travel for training when required (We will cover the cost)
Be based fully onsite
The right to work in the UK

Personal Qualities
You will have an enthusiasm for learning new skills, an interest in repairing and maintaining vehicles and the dedication to grow within a well-established business.

Skills Required
We are looking for new apprentices to join our friendly team in Coalville.
You do not need experience in vehicle repair.
What matters most is that you are motivated, keen to learn and ready to gain hands on experience.
You should be comfortable working independently and as part of a team.

Future Prospects
What you will learn

You will learn how to:

Assess damaged vehicles accurately

Identify additional faults not found during the first inspection

Prepare surfaces by stripping, sanding and masking areas

Etch and prime areas that need treatment

Colour match and mix paint

Apply paint using spray booth technology

Use buffing and polishing techniques

Correct paint defects

Work across mechanical, electrical and trim areas

You will also:

Attend all mandatory training as part of your apprenticeship

Complete all practical and theory work in line with apprenticeship standards

Escalate issues to your supervisor or mentor when needed

Make sure all work is completed safely and meets our standards

Get approval from the appropriate supervisor before carrying out work outside your normal duties
