Your new company
Desian Education are proud to be supporting a two-form entry primary school in Salford as they require an experienced SEN teaching assistant to join their team on a temporary basis. This is an extremely supportive school that is at the heart of its local community.
Your new role
As a teaching assistant within this school you will be joining an extremely welcoming and collaborative SEN team. You will be based within a KS2 ASD provision, supporting a class of 12 pupils with varying levels of ASD and the majority also being non-verbal. You will:
- Supporting speech and communication by using Makaton, PECs and other objective references
- Promote sensory stimuli via sensory rooms and toys
- Implement tailored positive behaviour strategies
- Support with personal/intimate care
- Work in collaboration with SALT
What you need to succeed
- Full “Right to Work” in the UK
- An Enhanced Children’s DBS on the update service or willing to obtain
- Relevant referenceable experience supporting SEN within a classroom or residential environment
- Be comfortable supporting personal/intimate care
- Be able to commit to a full-time contract consisting of 32.5 hours per week
