As our project portfolio grows, we are establishing a long-term framework for Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Service Engineering support to strengthen our delivery capability and ensure consistent, high-quality execution across all phases of our projects.
The Opportunity
We are seeking experienced E&I Service Engineers / Service Providers to support Kapwell on a framework basis (2–3 years), delivering workshop and site-based electrical and instrumentation services across the UK and EU.
This role offers the opportunity to work on technically challenging process systems within oil & gas, hydrogen, and industrial applications, supporting projects from assembly through to commissioning and ongoing service.
Scope of Work
1. Workshop Assembly & Integration (Gourdon, UK)
Electrical panel integration and skid mounting
Cable installation, glanding, and termination
Installation of field instruments (pressure, level, flow, temperature)
Instrument hook-up (tubing, manifolds, impulse lines)
Wiring segregation (power, signal, intrinsically safe)
QA/QC checks, cable schedule verification, and documentation
2. Inspection & Rectification
Electrical inspections of pre-assembled equipment
Verification against wiring diagrams
Fault finding, repairs, and re-termination
Insulation resistance and earth continuity testing
ATEX and hazardous area compliance checks
3. Pre-Commissioning & FAT Support
Loop testing and I/O checks
PLC panel power-up assistance
Signal simulation and alarm/trip verification
Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) support
4. Site Installation (UK & EU Projects)
On-site installation and final terminations
Instrument installation and hook-up
Interface wiring with third-party systems
Hazardous area installations (ATEX compliant)
Coordination with mechanical and project teams
5. Commissioning & Start-Up
Hot commissioning and system energisation
Instrument calibration and functional testing
Valve and actuator testing
Process start-up support and troubleshooting
Client handover, reporting, and operator training
6. Modifications & Upgrades
Control panel modifications
Instrument additions and upgrades
PLC component upgrades
System retrofits and wiring reconfiguration
7. Emergency & Breakdown Support
Priority call-out availability
Rapid mobilisation (typically 48–72 hours within EU)
Troubleshooting and repair
Root cause analysis reporting
Candidate Requirements
Qualifications:
Time-served E&I Engineer
NVQ / City & Guilds or EU equivalent
CompEx certification (for hazardous area work)
Valid right to work within UK/EU
Experience:
Industrial skid-mounted equipment
Oil & gas / chemical processing systems
PLC-based systems
Instrument calibration and loop testing
FAT/SAT and commissioning experience
Certifications (Preferred):
CSCS / ECITB
ATEX awareness
First Aid & Manual Handling
Offshore certification
Commercial Framework (High-Level):
