Job Summary: To assist in the day to day routines within the setting, helping to provide a high quality care and education for children aged between 0-5 years.
Duties & Responsibilities:
To ensure ALL policies and procedures are adhered to at all times
To report and record all accidents to the senior practitioner
To be aware of and to read all children’s medical protocols
• To implement the settings safeguarding/child protection policy & procedures
To be able to implement the EYFS within the setting, which includes children’s individual needs being met.
• To complete children’s developmental and observation records for learning journeys for the children in their key group.
• To attend parent evenings and speak to parents about children’s learning and development
• To ensure children’s Famly accounts are updated frequently in regards food diary and observataion.,
• Adhere to health and safety procedures & legislation
• To be aware and observant of health and safety issues within the workplace and where possible reducing the risk of accident occurring through preventative actions
• Carrying out health and safety checks as outlined within the settings policies and procedures
To maintain high standards of cleanliness/tidiness throughout setting, ensuring cleaning routines are followed.
To follow the instructions given by your senior member of staff.
You are responsible for maintaining your own personal hygiene and always
complying to nursery dress code.
To assist in opening and locking up the premises when on appropriate shift.
To be aware of new initiatives for the nursery.
To plan and design the decoration of boards in your room.
To assist in the safe keeping of all toys and equipment, searching and recovering lost pieces.
To maintain child:staff ratio at all times.
To assist the key worker in supervising the room you are in at all times.
• Any other duties appropriate to the post as directed by senior management
Successful candidate will be required to hold a valid DBS and employment references will be sought.
