SEN Teacher (Temp to Perm) - | Leeds | Immediate Start

Location: Leeds

Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only - Temp to Perm

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm

Start Date: September

Salary: £160 - £200 (Paid to Scale)

NextGen Teachers are currently recruiting for an experienced SEN Teacher (temp to perm) for a school located in Leeds, commencing in September. This is a full-time, term-time role supporting 4-18year old school-aged pupils with a range of complex Special Educational Needs (SEN).

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with experience in teaching within a SEN setting who are looking for a rewarding role with the potential for a permanent placement.

Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver differentiated lessons to meet the needs of pupils with complex SEN, including severe learning difficulties, complex medical needs, physical disabilities, Down's Syndrome, hearing and/or visual impairments, and autism
- Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies to support individual learning outcomes
- Lead whole-class teaching, as well as targeted 1:1 and small group interventions
- Implement effective behaviour management strategies and provide emotional support to promote pupil wellbeing
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, SEN staff, therapists, and external professionals to support pupil development
- Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment tailored to individual needs
- Develop and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs) or EHCP targets, ensuring provision meets statutory requirements
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress and wellbeing

What we're looking for:
- Previous experience working with children (essential)
- Holds QTS
- Experience as an Educator
- Knowledge of SEN needs such as:

ASD (Autism)
Down Syndrome
SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties)
SEMH
Behavioural needs
