SEN Teaching Assistant (Temp to Perm) | Leeds | Immediate Start

Location: Leeds

Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only - Temp to Perm

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm

Age Group: 4-18 years

Start Date: ASAP

Salary: £92 - £95 (depending on experience)

NextGen Teachers are currently recruiting for an experienced SEN (temp to perm) teaching assistant for a school located in Leeds. This is a full-time, term-time role supporting students aged 4-18years old. Candidates will be working with students with a range of complex Special Educational Needs (SEN).

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with experience in education, care, or support work who are looking for a rewarding role with the potential for a permanent placement.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support children with complex SEN needs in the classroom: severe learning difficulties, complex medical needs, physical difficulties, Down's Syndrome, hearing and/or visual impairments and autism
- Provide 1:1 support and small group interventions
- Assist with learning activities, behaviour management, and emotional support
- Work closely with teachers and SEN staff to support pupil progress
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment

What we're looking for:
- Previous experience working with children (essential)
- Experience as a Teaching Assistant, Support Worker, or Care Worker (preferred)
- Knowledge of SEN needs such as:

ASD (Autism)
Down Syndrome
SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties)
SEMH
Behavioural needs
