SEN Teacher (SEMH) High Wycombe

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEN Teacher to join a specialist school in High Wycombe, supporting students aged 11–18 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people who require a tailored, nurturing, and structured learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the diverse needs of students with SEMH


Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment


Develop strong, positive relationships with students to support their emotional and behavioural development


Implement behaviour management strategies effectively and consistently


Monitor, assess, and report on student progress in line with school policies


Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and external professionals


Contribute to the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and EHCP targets


The Ideal Candidate Will Have

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent


Experience working with students with SEMH, SEN, or in a specialist setting


Strong behaviour management skills and emotional resilience


A compassionate and patient approach to teaching


Excellent communication and teamwork skills


A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
