Your new school
A welcoming and community‑focused primary school in the Ward End area is seeking a confident and proactive Year 4 Teaching Assistant to join their team on a mornings only basis, Monday to Friday. Position to start after Easter, trial day available.
Your new role
The school is looking for someone who can make an immediate impact within Year 4. You will be supporting the class teacher by leading small intervention groups and providing targeted support across core areas of the Year 4 curriculum, including:
- Strengthening understanding of times tables, written methods, and problem‑solving
- Supporting reading fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary development
- Helping pupils refine grammar, punctuation, and sentence‑level writing skills
- Reinforcing key concepts in science and topic work where needed
Your ability to deliver focused, engaging sessions will be key to helping pupils make strong progress.
What you'll need to succeed
This role is ideal for someone who is:
- Confident in leading small groups and adapting learning to meet different needs
- Knowledgeable about the Year 4 curriculum and age‑related expectations
- Able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Strong in behaviour management, using calm, consistent strategies
