Autism Support Assistant - Full-Time
Location: Newton Heath
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm

Teaching Personnel is working alongside a friendly and supportive primary school in Newton Heath who are looking to welcome a committed Autism Support Assistant to their team this May.
About the Role
In this rewarding position, you will provide both 1:1 and small‑group support to pupils with Autism, helping them access learning, build confidence, and develop essential social and communication skills. You'll play a key part in shaping a positive and successful educational experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personalised support to pupils with Autism within the classroom
- Use effective strategies to promote engagement and positive behaviour
- Support pupils' social, emotional, and communication development
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to adapt learning activities
- Keep accurate records of progress and maintain strong communication with staff and parents
What We're Looking For
- Experience supporting children with Autism or additional needs
- Understanding of EHCPs and individual learning plans
- Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
(Relevant SEN training or qualifications are desirable but not essential.)
