The Capita HAAS team are excited to be recruiting for a Senior Capacity Planner.
The successful candidate will own the medium- to long-term capacity planning and modelling within the Performance Management function, with accountability for the approach, assumptions, governance, and outputs. As a senior lead, you'll shape operational strategy through scenario analysis and workforce forecasting, and you'll engage directly with our client and senior internal stakeholders to secure decisions, manage risks, and agree plans.
This is a home-based remote role.
What you'll be doing:
• Own and lead medium- to long-term capacity models, with clear inputs, outputs, and decision points.
• Lead scenario planning to assess business, policy, and demand changes, recommending options and trade-offs.
• Own the modelling input to Impact Assessments, with a clear narrative and auditable assumptions.
• Present modelling insights as clear recommendations, risks, and mitigations for senior and client audiences.
• Lead cross-functional working with MI, Business Modelling, Resourcing, and Operations to align demand/supply assumptions and data.
• Own recruitment requirement forecasts, communicating hiring triggers, constraints, and lead times.
• Improve the capacity planning capability through efficiency, automation, and better decision support.
• Maintain modelling documentation (methods, assumptions, controls) to ensure transparency and auditability.
• Keep up to date with forecasting and modelling best practice and advise stakeholders on improvements.
• Set and uphold modelling standards and governance, including quality checks and stakeholder sign-off.
• Lead client engagement on capacity outlook, scenarios, risks, and actions, representing capacity planning in governance forums.
• Own the end-to-end capacity planning cycle and cadence, delivering a single source of truth.
• Manage senior stakeholders, escalating risks early and driving actions to resolution.
What we're looking for:
Essential
• Experience leading capacity planning in a fast-paced BPO environment, with strong understanding of service delivery and performance.
• Proven ability to manage senior stakeholders and engage directly with clients, influencing decisions with clear recommendations.
• Strong background in data management, capacity modelling, and medium- to long-term forecasting, with accountability for quality, governance, and delivery.
Desirable
• Experience working in or with government services or public sector organisations
• Senior lead mindset: sets direction, coaches others, and aligns teams to deliver outcomes.
• Strong communication skills, confident presenting complex insights to senior and client audiences.
• Demonstrated strength in analytical thinking and structured problem-solving, with a focus on applying data-driven approaches to operational and strategic challenges.
• Deep expertise in data visualisation, statistical analysis, and modelling techniques, with hands-on experience using Microsoft Excel other analytical or modelling tools to support business decision-making.
• Strong IT and mathematical skills, including the ability to work with large datasets, build scalable models, and apply quantitative methods to real-world scenarios.
• Excellent quality assurance, validation, and data linkage capabilities, ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and reliability of modelling outputs used to inform business-critical decisions.
