We help our clients safeguard the water supply, improve environmental performance and manage demand for future generations. We enhance and extend asset life, ensuring compliance with water quality and environmental standards. We’re problem solvers with over 140 years of combined experience in engineering and infrastructure.
This role will be within our Quality Assurance Team, which forms part of the wider SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment and Quality) team on the Thames Water Smart Metering contract. Want to be a part of it?
What will you be doing?
As our Compliance Officer you'll review Project Quality Plans (PQPs) and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), ensuring all documentation aligns with technical requirements and client standards. You will provide compliance assurance guidance to operational teams, helping them establish effective assurance processes both within the contract and for the client. Regular audits and validation checks will form a key part of your work, assessing compliance with Quality Plans and evaluating evidence to support continuous improvement.
You'll conduct site inspections to assess understanding and application of minimum standards, producing timely, clear reports to support operational, engineering and client teams. You will also contribute to the development of a digital Quality and Compliance dashboard, using data insights to drive best practice and promote lessons learned across the business. Building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders will be essential to ensuring successful project delivery.
This position also plays an important role in supporting innovation and staff development, helping teams maintain a consistent, high-quality approach to delivery. You will engage with community initiatives, uphold a positive public image, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement across the organisation.
What you’ll bring?
Essential Criteria
Valid driving licence
Experience in Quality Assurance within construction, utilities or infrastructure.
Understanding of ITPs, PQPs and technical standards.
Strong auditing skills and ability to interpret technical validation evidence.
Effective communication and reporting skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
IT Literate - Use of mobile phones, apps & laptop works on a daily basis (Training on dashboards will be given)
Desirable Criteria
Internal/ Lead Auditor qualification (or working towards).
Experience within water infrastructure.
Knowledge of digital quality platforms or data dashboards.
Experience conducting site inspections and delivering lessons-learned outputs.
