About the role:
We currently have an exciting position for an Assistant Buyer (Maternity Cover) to join our Savers Home, Health & Beauty team based in our Head Office in Dunstable. This is a fast paced, innovative environment and we are looking for a pro-active, motivated and commercially aware individual.
In this position you will be responsible for supporting the Household Buying
Manager to drive sales and ensure maximum profitability for this key category. You
will become part of an energetic team, working alongside our skilled and
experienced buyers, as well as the wider Savers Head Office team.
What you’ll be doing:
Supporting the Household Buying Manager with product sourcing, promotional
planning, supplier management, market reviews and sales data analysis and
reporting.
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to
drive sales, total profitability and brand awareness.
Supporting other category teams within the Commercial
department as required with day-to-day tasks.
Supporting category projects as required.
Generating new ideas, understanding market trends and new
brands to continue to grow and innovate the category
Work closely with the Supply Chain, Merchandising,
Operations and Finance teams.
Supporting Buying Manager on all aspects of administrative
work.
What you'll need:
Commercial acumen with excellent numerical and analytical capability
Articulate and engaging communication style
Ability to interact cross functionally
Confidence in working with suppliers and other stakeholders
Excellent IT literacy including Excel and the ability to pick up bespoke
systems quickly
Educated to degree level or equivalent, ideally within a business or
retail-related discipline would prove advantageous
Ideally work experience in retail or FMCG organisations
