Crynodeb
The SWETA Leadership Fellow will divide their time between clinical training and regional leadership activity. Clinical Responsibilities (5 Sessions Per Week) Provide inpatient and outpatient Gastroenterology care. Participate in specialty clinics aligned to subspecialty interest. Undertake endoscopy training lists, including diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Develop expertise in areas such as upper GI bleeding, IBD, hepatology, nutrition or advanced endoscopy. Work within established MDT frameworks (IBD, Hepatology, complex polyp, radiology). Maintain accurate clinical records and comply with Trust governance standards. Participate in audit and quality improvement programmes. Work flexibly according to departmental needs. There is no General Internal Medicine commitment and no on-call requirement. SWETA / Regional Leadership Responsibilities (3 Sessions Per Week) Support delivery of South West Endoscopy Network priorities. Contribute to regional endoscopy training strategy and faculty development. Assist in organisation and delivery of simulation and human factors training. Support regional workforce and service development initiatives. Participate in training research and innovation projects. Contribute to development of training materials and regional educational events. The postholder will work within the framework of team decisions and demonstrate initiative, enthusiasm and flexibility. They will: Comply with Trust policies and governance frameworks. Participate in annual appraisal and professional development. Maintain GMC registration and professional standards. Contribute positively to team working and whole-system collaboration. Secretarial support is provided. Out of Programme Training/Experience (OOP-T) may be applied for, subject to appropriate approvals.
