Crynodeb

The Acute Admissions Unit (AAU) at Whipps Cross Hospital is a busy 29 bedded medical admissions unit including 12 monitored beds. We see a wide range of complex acute conditions on the unit that include level 2 patients (NIV). The area also comprises of a 20 bedded Older Persons Assessment Unit (OPAU) which allows for quicker decision making for our patients over the age of 65 years with frailty syndromes.

We also staff a Same Day Emergency Care Unit (SDEC) which allows for patients to be able to have their treatments, a review by the medical team and return home the same day. This SDEC area has 10 cubicles and a large seated area for patient assessments and treatments. We are looking for a dynamic, motivated and hardworking individual who has the experience and knowledge to complement the Senior Nursing Team on AAU/OPAU/SDEC.

To provide the highest standard of individualised and holistic patient care, in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team. To deputise for the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse in their absence. Work as part of the wider Band 6 team to ensure highest standards of care are maintained and to
ensure staff are supported, appraised and developed to ensure these standards are achieved.

Barts Health is one of the largest NHS trusts in the country, and one of Britain’s leading healthcare providers.

The Barts Health group of NHS hospitals is entering an exciting new era on our improvement journey to becoming an outstanding organisation with a world-class clinical reputation. That means being a provider of excellent patient safety, known for delivering consistently high standards of harm-free care and always caring for patients in the right place at the right time.
