BEAR Scotland is a leading provider of highway maintenance services across Scotland. We manage and maintain over 2,00km of Scotland’s trunk road network, tackling just about every imaginable task and working round the clock to help keep Scotland moving.

The South East Trunk Road Unit spans 506km through some of the busiest sections of the country, from central Scotland to through the Scottish Borders. Trunk roads in the South East range from the major multi-lane motorways across the central belt to roads through villages in the borders.

We have an exciting opportunity for a reliable and hardworking Electrical Civils Operative to join our team working on street lighting and highway infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out tracking works, sign pole installation of streetlighting columns and associated infrastructure, You will work closely with electricians and other team members to ensure safe efficient and high-quality installations in line with Health & Safety Regulations.

Roles and Responsibilities:



Install electrical sign poles and associated foundations in accordance with site drawings and specifications.
Excavate trenches and carry out tracking for ducting and electrical cabling installations.
Install and position ducting systems for electrical infrastructure.
Assist with the pulling of electrical cables through installed ducting.
Support electricians with installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment on major bridge structures.
Assist with maintenance and replacement of street lighting furniture including columns, brackets, lanterns, and feeder pillars.
Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance of street lighting infrastructure.
Work in coordination with electricians, supervisors, and other site operatives to complete works efficiently.
Assist with traffic management setups where required for highway or bridge works.



Knowledge, Skills and Experience:



Experience in highway or street lighting works
Full UK Driving licence
Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Team Player, with a positive and safety conscious attitude.
Relevant tickets or experience with traffic management and civils work would be advantageous
