Provide Dedicated, Compassionate Support to Residents Moving Home Across West and North Norfolk
We’re looking for a Home Move Coordinator to join our Home Ownership team at Freebridge Community Housing. This important new role provides practical and emotional support to residents whose homes are being sold as part of the organisation’s asset strategy. You’ll act as a single point of contact throughout each customer’s moving journey — ensuring they are listened to, supported, and rehoused sensitively, respectfully and with minimal disruption.
About Freebridge Community Housing:
Our Freebridge Community Housing goal is to provide affordable, safe, and quality homes for current and future generations, for those who need a place to call home. Freebridge was set up in 2006, to receive the transfer of the Borough Council of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk’s housing stock. We now have over 7500 properties across west and north Norfolk, in addition to building new homes for social and affordable rent, and to support those who want to move into shared home ownership. We’ve had numerous achievements, including delivering our tenants' promises and bringing homes to the Decent Homes Standard, affording our customers a much better quality of living. At Freebridge, we live by our values: Belong, Own It, Think Customer, One Team One Purpose, and Be the Change.
What you’ll be doing:
• Act as the named point of contact for customers affected by property disposals, building trusted relationships throughout their move.
• Meet customers in their homes, providing clear, sensitive communication and ensuring they understand each stage of the process.
• Carry out individual housing needs assessments and develop tailored support plans.
• Identify suitable alternative accommodation in line with allocations and tenancy policy, working closely with internal teams.
• Support residents through internal transfer routes or bidding processes, arranging and attending viewings where required.
• Coordinate all practical elements of the move, including removals, utility changes, council tax amendments and address updates.
• Administer disturbance payments and compensation where applicable.
• Ensure properties are vacated in line with programme timelines, escalating risks where needed.
• Identify vulnerable customers and liaise with internal teams and external agencies to ensure additional support is in place.
• Maintain accurate case records, trackers and reports for senior management, highlighting progress and emerging risks.
What we’re looking for:
Essential:
• Experience working in social housing, housing management, lettings or allocations.
• Experience managing complex or sensitive customer cases.
• Strong understanding of tenancy types and allocations processes.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to build trust and manage emotionally sensitive or challenging conversations.
• Strong organisational and case management skills, with experience working to deadlines.
• Confidence working across internal teams and external agencies.
• A resilient, calm and compassionate approach.
• Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
• Good attention to detail with accurate record-keeping.
Desirable:
• Experience supporting decants or regeneration programmes.
• Knowledge of Home Loss and Disturbance Payment frameworks.
• Awareness of welfare benefits and financial inclusion support
What’s in it for you?
At Freebridge, we’re appreciative of our team and you can enjoy the following benefits from joining us, among many more:
• Generous Holiday Leave: Enjoy 25 days holiday, plus bank holidays, increasing to 30 days after 5 years of service.
• Exclusive Employee Discounts: Access amazing deals through our Reward Gateway.
• Comprehensive Leave Policies: Enjoy 6 months full pay for maternity leave and 2 weeks full pay for paternity leave.
