Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (8:00am – 5:00pm), with overtime available
About the role
A manufacturing business based in Fakenham is seeking a Mechanical Fitter to join its workshop team. This is a hands-on role involving the assembly, fitting, and maintenance of a range of mechanical and electro-mechanical equipment.
Duties
• Assemble, fit and test mechanical components and machinery
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical diagrams
• Work with mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Carry out maintenance, fault-finding and repairs
• Ensure all work meets quality and safety standards
• Support machinery builds and occasional installation work
Requirements
• Experience in mechanical fitting or machinery assembly
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
• Knowledge of mechanical systems (e.g. bearings, moving parts)
• Basic electrical or hydraulic knowledge would be beneficial
• Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Relevant engineering qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds or similar) desirable
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
