Job Description:
Overview
We are seeking a skilled Mig Welder/Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have experience in welding and fabrication, with a focus on producing high-quality components and assemblies. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, utilising a variety of tools and techniques to create durable metal structures and parts. Candidates must demonstrate mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely and efficiently. Experience in roller shutter doors is a big advantage.
Responsibilities
Perform Mig welding using TIG welding techniques where required, ensuring precision and adherence to specifications
Fabricate components from sheet metal and other materials according to engineering drawings and work orders
Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment safely and effectively during fabrication processes
Assist in the assembly of fabricated parts into finished products or structures
Measure, cut, and shape materials with basic math skills to meet project requirements
Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety standards
Conduct quality checks on completed welds and fabricated parts to ensure compliance with specifications
Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines while maintaining high standards of workmanship
Skills
Proficiency in Mig welding with experience in TIG welding preferred
Strong knowledge of welding standards and techniques
Competence in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment safely
Solid understanding of fabrication processes involving sheet metal and other materials
Mechanical knowledge relevant to assembly processes and equipment operation
Ability to interpret technical drawings and basic mathematical measurements accurately
Experience working with various materials including sheet metal for fabrication tasks
Good organisational skills with an eye for detail to ensure quality control throughout production processes
