Summary
Equans are looking for a Mobile Fabric Technician / Relief Janitor to join our Team in North Lanarkshire Schools, Bellshill ML4 3LR on a permanent basis. This is a full- time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a salary of £30,000 - £ 31,500 depending on skills and experience and benefits package.Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday 12pm - 20.00pm Full Driving license is required Use of own vehicle (expenses paid) What will you deliver? The position is part of an on-site team of Mechanical & Electrical technicians, Plumbers and Joiners who deliver the Hard FM servicing & maintenance within the North Lanarkshire High Schools contract. • Assist with and conduct the delivery of Planned & Reactive maintenance relating to a wide variety of Fabric assets across school estate which also includes External works.• To perform basic servicing, repairs, and fault finding on plumbing and fabric fixtures and equipment, reporting • Ensure all Installations, Maintenance and Repairs meet the requirements of the appropriate SFG20 and related documentation or relevant trade standards.• Undertake Point of Work Risk Assessment prior to starting work evidencing it is safe to proceed.• Risk assessments and Methods statements (RAMS) are prepared and used for all tasks undertaken.• Clearing of blockages in drainage pipework and cleaning gullies, grates, and traps. This may include Toilets, Urinals, or Sinks using the correct Personal Protective Equipment. There will also be a requirement to attend fabric related tasks, replacing door handles, door stops, tightening of hinges and any external works relating to hard standing areas, slabs, monoblock etc.• Maintain storerooms and working environment in a clean, tidy, and safe condition.• Learn new skills with training as necessary, this may include for example statutory requirements for ladder inspections, floor welding, first aid, COSHH, etc... Development through Personal Development Plans created to assist in ongoing training and education. • Training in Mobile Elevated Working Platforms (MEWP), assembly and disassembly of mobile access towers (PASMA) and confined space medium risk may be required.• There will be times when there is a requirement to cover sickness and holidays within a Janitorial role across the North Lanarkshire High school estate • Operate within a shift rota, be available for overtime as required, and perform any additional duties (with competency levels) as directed by line manager. • Requirement to be part of an On – Call rota system. Essential: Has practical skills in basic maintenance tasks (e.g. plumbing, fabric, electrical and external works.). Experience in a similar role or related field is advantageous. Good literacy & numeracy skills, with educational qualifications in Maths & English. Ability to troubleshoot and address maintenance issues efficiently. Have a proficiency at a good standard with the use of office applications and devices, such as PDA. Desirable: Having a trade related qualification aligned to facilities management and/or building services. Familiarity with the Educational sector, and day to day operation and maintenance of varying types of building/premises.Full Valid driving License Who are we?
