Working Pattern

Monday – Friday twilight shifts
-
Either 3:00pm – 11:00pm or 4:00pm – 12:00am

45-minute break included

The Role
This role is ideal for an RVN who enjoys hands-on nursing and thrives in a collaborative clinical environment. You will play an important role in maintaining continuity of patient care between the day and night teams, ensuring high clinical standards and exceptional patient welfare throughout evening operations.
You will rotate across wards, theatre and clinical support areas, working with a varied medical and surgical caseload in a modern, well-equipped veterinary setting.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Nursing & Wards-
Provide high-quality nursing care to hospitalised patients

Administer medications and monitor patient progress

Assist with patient restraint, blood sampling and IV catheter placement

Support evening handovers between clinical teams
-
Maintain excellent hygiene and infection control standards
Theatre & Clinical Support-
Prepare patients for surgery including clipping and surgical preparation

Monitor anaesthesia and maintain accurate clinical records
-
Assist with diagnostic imaging and procedures
-
Maintain sterility and assist as scrub nurse when required

Prepare and shut down theatre areas in line with SOPs
Practice Operations-
Sterilise and prepare surgical instruments
-
Run laboratory tests and restock consumables
-
Support discharges and client communication
-
Manage out-of-hours calls and client enquiries
-
Maintain accurate patient documentation
