Crynodeb
Consult with patients and, where appropriate, their families to support assessments of patient needs. Deliver and assist clinical staff in providing treatment, preventative care, health promotion, long-term condition management and patient education. Work as an integral member of the general practice team. Provide clinical support to registered nurses and other healthcare professionals. Deliver basic clinical care interventions under supervision, supporting continuity of care and patient safety. Act as a chaperone when required. Ensure clinical specimens are correctly recorded and prepared for onward transportation. Provide support to clinicians during minor operations when required. Ensure clinical waste is removed from clinical areas and sharps bins are replaced in line with the organisations Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) policy. Work within national and local clinical protocols where these exist. Adhere to current legislation and practice policies, including Safeguarding Adults and Safeguarding Children procedures. Recognise the boundaries of the role and refer patients appropriately when necessary. Support the delivery of enhanced services and other practice service requirements. Provide support to the administrative team as required. Undertake mandatory training and complete induction programmes. Contribute to and support clinical governance within the practice. Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment at all times. Attend an annual appraisal with the line manager and review progress against agreed performance and training objectives regularly.
