Salary: £130 – £200 per day (dependent on experience)

TeacherActive is currently recruiting dedicated and enthusiastic English Teachers to support secondary schools across Bristol and the surrounding areas.

We are working with a number of welcoming and supportive secondary schools who are seeking English Teachers to deliver engaging lessons across KS3 and KS4. These opportunities include flexible day-to-day supply roles, short-term cover and long-term placements, with schools already planning for Term 5 and September starts.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced teachers or English specialists who are passionate about developing students’ literacy skills, critical thinking and enjoyment of English.

English Teacher Responsibilities

The successful English Teacher will be responsible for:

• Delivering engaging English lessons across KS3 and KS4

  
  

• Supporting students in English Language and English Literature

  
  

• Planning and delivering creative and structured lessons

  
  

• Assessing student progress and supporting academic development

  
  

• Maintaining strong classroom management and behaviour expectations

  
  

• Creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment

  
  The Ideal English Teacher Will:

  • Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and/or

    
    

  • Hold a CELTA or TEFL qualification, or

    
    

  • Have a degree in English Literature or the English Language

    
    

  • Have previous teaching experience in a classroom or education setting

    
    

  • Be confident teaching English to secondary school students (KS3 & KS4)

    
    

  • Demonstrate strong communication and classroom management skills

    
    

  • Be passionate about supporting student progress and engagement in English
