We are recruiting a 1:1 Tutor to support a KS3 student with social-communication difficulties, emotional regulation needs, and sensory processing challenges. The student requires 10 hours per week of English and Maths tuition as part of an EOTAS package of support. In person Tuition based in Cowshill, Durham
About the Role
We're seeking a dedicated 1:1 Tutor to support a student working at Level 2 in Maths and English. The student has previously received tutoring but requires continued support to progress. Sessions may take place online, within the community, or a combination, depending on what works best for the student and their family.
The student also attends alternative provision for part of the week, with the potential to increase to more days in the future.
We are looking for tutors who are patient, adaptable, and experienced in supporting learners with SEMH and sensory processing needs.
Position Details:
- Pay rate up to £30 per hour
* 10 hours per week (1:1 tuition)
* Start date: ASAP
* Duration: ongoing
* Access to our Resource Hub, which includes learning materials
* Access to CPD accredited courses and training
Your role with us:
- Deliver 1:1 tuition in English and Maths
* Develop and implement personalised lesson plans that address individual learning gaps
* Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback
* Create a supportive and motivating learning environment to help rebuild confidence
* Complete daily attendance and weekly reports
To be eligible for this role, the potential Tutors must:
- Have experience working with SEMH and sensory processing needs
* Hold the right to work in the UK
* Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or be willing to process a new application
* Be able to reference the last two years of education/employment
