Contract: Fixed Term Contract – 1 June 2026 to 31 March 2027
Working Pattern: 1 day per week (day negotiable)- 0800-1700
Session Times:
AM: 08:15 – 11:30
PM: 13:45 – 16:30
(On-site 15 minutes before session start)
Security Clearance: Full CTC required (2-week induction and key training mandatory)
Salary: Competitive – dependent on experience

About the Role
Bhuku Ltd is seeking an experienced Outreach Education Tutor to deliver unaccredited, paper-based educational provision at HMP Frankland.
This role is specifically designed for prisoners who are unable to attend mainstream classroom education. You will work on specialist units and wings, supporting learners who may be on management plans, CSIP status, or who have neurodivergent conditions or disabilities preventing them from mixing with the wider population.
This is a highly autonomous role requiring confidence, professionalism, and the ability to work safely within a secure custodial environment.

What You Will Deliver
You will design and deliver structured, unaccredited outreach courses in paper-based format across a wide range of subjects, including:
Art
History
Geography
Literature
Philosophy
Creative writing
Community studies
Equality & diversity
Food safety
Astronomy and space
General science topics (excluding biology, chemistry and physics)
You must also be able to respond to bespoke subject requests from learners (within agreed parameters).
All courses must include:
Structured learning content
Formal assessment
Clear progression outcomes
Written learner progress reports
An unaccredited certificate upon completion

Key Responsibilities
Deliver one full day of outreach provision per week
Work directly on prison wings and specialist units
Support learners who may have complex needs
Track attendance and engagement
Formally assess learning
Produce progress reports for Employment & Training Portfolios
Submit a final impact report within 4 weeks of contract completion
Collaborate with prison education staff, offender supervisors, neurodiversity support and wing staff
Attend 1 Quality Improvement Group (QIG) meeting
Maintain accurate learner records and data security
You will also be required to complete a 2-week prison induction before starting delivery, including key-holder training.

Essential Requirements
Experience delivering education in custodial or secure environments
Experience supporting neurodiverse learners and learners with additional needs
Ability to create structured, paper-based learning materials
Strong written assessment and reporting skills
Ability to work independently in a secure setting
Professional communication skills
Understanding of prison security and safeguarding requirements
Willingness to undertake Full CTC clearance

Knowledge of trauma-informed practice
