The Role
We are seeking a CNC Production Engineer to join our Engineering team. This role will support the development and production of foam and reinforcement kits, machined composite components, and tooling patterns using both 2D and 3D customer data.
You will play a key role in supporting projects from quotation through to production, ensuring engineered kits are efficient, manufacturable, and fully optimised.
Key Responsibilities

Provide technical support to the sales team during the quotation process.

Develop and engineer foam and reinforcement kits, machined composite components, and tooling patterns from 2D and 3D customer data.

Act as the primary technical contact with customers once quotes have been accepted.

Identify Design for Manufacture (DFM) and kit optimisation opportunities during the engineering phase.

Investigate and define special material or tooling requirements.

Create Bills of Materials (BOMs) and production routings within the MRP system.

Work closely with CNC programmers to refine and approve engineered kits.

Support the wider Engineering team in developing CNC kits for composite components.

Produce clear and accurate work instructions for the shopfloor.

Provide technical support to production teams to resolve manufacturing or quality issues.

Update CAD models and work instructions based on customer updates or internal improvements.

Attend customer visits when required to assist with fitting and updating CNC kits.
Essential Requirements

Proven experience in a manufacturing or engineering role, ideally within the composites industry.

Strong working knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD software.

Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

A methodical approach to problem-solving.

Experience working with internal teams and external customers/stakeholders.
Desirable Skills

A technical qualification in Engineering or a related discipline.

Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.

Project management experience or understanding of project delivery processes.
