SALARY APT&C Scale 6/S01 point 16 to 25
£34,488 to £39,276 (FTE) £31,145 - £35,469 (Actual)
HOURS 36 hours per week. Monday to Friday. 8.15am to 4.00pm
Term time (which includes 5x INSET days) + 2 weeks for
administrative support = 41 weeks per annumKey Responsibilities: To promote and enforce regular school attendance and good punctuality, to undertake case work and to provide effective support to students, families and school staff.Specific Duties: • To support key staff in monitoring attendance of all students throughout the school to identify attendance concerns.
• To co-operate and exchange information with parents and carers, relevant school staff and other appropriate agencies, regarding student attendance and welfare issues.
• To promote the importance of good attendance and punctuality to students and parents and carers – eg through attendance at parent’s evenings, contributions to assemblies.
• To work with key staff in identifying any concerning trends in overall absence patterns, and to develop and promote effective strategies for addressing these issues.
• To support key staff in identifying and reducing parental-condoned absence and lateness after registration.
• To investigate absence and improve attendance rates through providing support and advice to families and enforcing attendance legislation where necessary.
• To work with parents and carers to promote good attendance and to address other issues. This may include home visits.
• To formally monitor the attendance of Looked After Children and those students subject to a Child Protection Plan.
• To plan, prioritise and review open case referrals in consultation with line manager.
• To contribute to the Year 6 transition process in liaison with key staff and other appropriate agencies.
• To liaise with other schools where appropriate (eg issues with siblings’ attendance).
