Coventry, CV6 4BX (this is an on-site role, with the opportunity to work one day per week from home)

We're looking for a People Co-ordinator to join our People team. Collaborating closely with our Senior People Business Partner and wider team, you'll help deliver great working experiences for colleagues at our logistics depot in Coventry. You'll help to support people processes, policies, and employee relations cases, and play a key role in rolling out new initiatives that help our colleagues and make Co-op a place they can thrive.

Why this role matters

This is a great opportunity to step into the world of HR and make a real difference to people's lives. You'll build strong relationships with our Coventry depot leaders, the wider People team, and our national logistics network. Your work will help bring our people strategy to life and create a positive experience for our colleagues.

What you'll do

  • Support managers with guidance on key people priorities (e.g., performance, talent, engagement, attendance, and reward)
  • Build positive relationships with union partners, business leaders, and colleagues to support initiatives and change projects
  • Use data and insight to spot opportunities for improvement and help improve our processes
  • Point managers to the right tools and resources to encourage a self-serve approach
  • Champion our Co-op vision, values, and Colleague Promise in everything you do
  • Work flexibly as part of an agile People team, including travelling to other sites and supporting across all shift patters as required

What you'll bring

We're committed to making our roles as accessible as possible, so we only ask for the minimum criteria. To thrive here, you'll need to bring:

  • Experience building relationships and resolving challenges inclusively
  • A background or strong interest in people-focussed or customer-facing roles
  • Good organisational and prioritisation skills
  • A keen willingness to learn more about the world of HR and People

Why Co-op?

At Co-op, we're owned by our members. And because we're owned by you, we can do right by you. So when you join us, you're not just taking a job, you're joining a movement. We're an organisation that puts people and communities first, and we're powered by purpose. We want this to be a place where you can thrive, so you'll also receive:

  • An annual bonus (based on personal and business performance)
  • 28 days holiday (rising to 32 with service) plus bank holidays
  • A pension with up to 10% employer contributions
  • 30% discount on Co-op products and 10% off other brands
  • Stream - early access to a percentage of your pay as you earn it
  • Virtual healthcare including GP appointments, mental health support, nutrition and fitness advice
  • 24/7 colleague support service
  • Training and support for your development and career progression
  • Cycle-to-work scheme

A place you'll belong

We're building diverse teams that reflect the communities we serve. We welcome applications from everyone, and our support centre is an inclusive environment where all our colleagues can thrive.

If you have a disability, we'll make reasonable adjustments to support you through the recruitment process. We're also proud to be part of the Disability Confident scheme - if you're disabled and you meet the minimum criteria for this job, we'll guarantee you an interview.
