Salary: £13.00 - £14.50 per hour
Hours: Up to 32.5 hours weekly, term time only, part time hours will be considered for the right candidate
Contract: Permanent. Required as soon as possible
Little Wonders Preschool is looking for a Preschool Practitioner and SENCo.
Job role Summary
To plan and deliver meaningful, high-quality learning experiences for children aged 2–5 years, guided by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. To create a nurturing, inclusive and anti-discriminatory environment where every child feels safe, valued and listened to, and is supported to develop holistically through positive relationships, play and exploration, enabling each child to reach their full potential.
As Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo), the role also includes supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and ensuring the setting provides inclusive practice and appropriate support so all children can access learning and development opportunities
Your key responsibilities:
to take responsibility for drawing up long, medium and short-term plans, ensuring each child is working towards appropriate learning and development outcomes
to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the pre-school curriculum and learning environment
to produce accurate, objective and effective observations to assess children’s progress
to record observations, assessments and next steps using Tapestry, ensuring records are accurate, up to date and informative
to use assessment information to inform future planning and support children’s individual needs
to support children’s learning and development in line with the EYFS framework.
You will need
Essential:
a relevant NVQ level 3 or above in childcare
you must have at least 2 years’ experience in an early years environment
to be SENCo trained
a minimum 1 year of experience in SENCo position
good knowledge of the EYFS
excellent communication skills.
Desirable:
a driving licence
up to date safeguarding training
up to date Paediatric first aid training
a willingness to engage in continuous professional development.
