Amazing opportunity to join a Leading UK Tier 1 Main Contractor within their Data Centres division, based in Central London.
About the role of Senior Estimator
My client is one of the largest tier 1 main contractors in the industry, with a £1bn+ turnover and several divisions within the business, covering all sectors.
A privately owned business who are very cash rich, with some of the strongest financials on the market and an excellent reputation and staff turnover. They have lots of long-standing members of staff whilst also constantly growing and evolving with new talent.
This role is within their Data Centres division, whilst also covering the Sports & Leisure, Film Studios, Industrial & Logistics sectors. The projects are ranging between £60m & £600m.
This division of the business alone has an individual turnover of £300m, but with the current pipeline & plans to grow within the next couple of years this could change to £400m-£500m. The existing team is made up of 6 people excluding the Estimating Director currently, all of different levels from Assistant - Senior and most have progressed with the business.
As a Senior Estimator, you will be dealing with only single stage tenders, and multiple tenders at once, so the ideal candidate will be proficient in both of these things, as well as using Conquest software & Excel.
Responsibilities for Senior Estimator
- Reviewing tender documents, drawings & specifications
- Developing detailed cost estimates and pricing strategies
- Coordinating input from supply chain partners and internal departments
- Producing cost plans across different design stages (concept, stage 2, detailed)
- Ensuring estimates align with programme, methodology, and logistics constraints
- Negotiating rates and scope clarity
- Ensuring packages reflect data centre standards and commissioning requirements
- Detailed bill of quantities or cost breakdown
- Preliminaries pricing
- Assisting the commercial team during handover
- Supporting team workload management
Requirements for Senior Estimator
- 7+ Years estimating experience
- Proficient in working with single stage tenders
- Able to work on several tenders at one time
- Experience working for a main contractor (tier 1 or large tier 2)
- Experience across the Data Centre sector
- Worked on wide range of project values
- Construction related qualification
