Desian Education are proud to be working in collaboration with an extremely supportive and well regarding SEND school in St Helens that is easily accessible via public transport. This school supports pupils between the ages of 11 – 16 with a variety of needs.
Your new role
As a learning supporting assistant within this school you will be joining an highly experienced and supportive team. You will work in collaboration with class teachers and other learning support assistants to promote the engagement, learning and development of all pupils as well as implementing an array of positive behaviour strategies. You will play an integral part in the education and development of pupils across the school by leading on targeted interventions. You will take an EHCP-led approach as to ensure that all key requirements are met with interventions focusing on:
- Targeted speech including use of Makaton/PECs/visual references
- ELSA (emotional literacy support)
- Behavioural and self-esteem
What you need to succeed
- Full “Right to Work” in the UK
- Have a DBS on the update service or willing to undergo an Enhanced Children’s DBS check
- Have experience supporting SEN (behavioural and learning needs is highly advantageous)
- Be at least NVQ Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent qualification
- Be able to commit to a full-time temporary contract (32.5 hours per week)
- Experience delivering ELSA interventions
