Your new company
Desian Education are proud to be working in partnership with an extremely well regarded single-form entry primary school in St Helens that is at the heart of it’s local community. This school has amazing transport links and they are looking to appoint and experienced and reliable learning support assistant to a long-term full-time contract starting after the easter holidays.
Your new role
In your new role you will be joining an experienced and supportive year 4 class, working in collaboration with the class teacher to promote the engagement and learning of your new pupils. Your main focus will be to support a year 4 pupil with GLD (global delay disorder). This is an extremely loving and caring pupil but due to their needs that are working at a reception/year 1 level. You will:
- Deliver targeted interventions including phonics, numeracy and literacy
- Integrate into new pupil groups
- Implement positive behaviour strategies
- Accurately track progress in learning journey and recognise key milestones
- Liaise with class teacher and SENCO on pupil progress
What you need to succeed
- Full “Right to Work” in the UK
- Have a DBS on the update service or willing to undergo an Enhanced Children’s DBS check
- Have experience supporting SEN (GLD is advantageous)
- Be at least NVQ Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent qualification
