Care and support in Hull is transforming and Hull City Council are looking for exceptional individuals to join the Adult Social Care team. Occupational Therapy performs a vital function, ensuring that individuals can maintain their independence and live life to the fullest.
We are looking for OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY ASSISTANTS.
The Core elements of the role are:

To work alongside with the Occupational Therapists to enable people to improve their health, wellbeing, and independence, and other professionals as required.
To assess for equipment, adaptations and alternative housing.
To undertake Duty and other office/telephone based tasks.
To support Occupational Therapists with Moving and Handling of Adults.
Delivery of equipment (possibly heavy or bulky) across the city – therefore driver and vehicle essential.
To use a number of different computer systems and programs to maintain accurate records, and ordering of equipment.

The successful candidate for occupational therapy assistant will have the following:
You will have excellent interpersonal skills, a caring approach and be willing to undertake training as necessary.

NVQ Level 2 in health and social care or equivalent experience.
Previous experience of occupational therapy or a related field through work, volunteering or lived experience, with an awareness of the role of occupational therapy in adult social care.
Knowledge of Mental Capacity Act, Care Act and Safeguarding.
Good standard of computer skills.
Previous experience in a similar role is desirable.
Ability to do moving and handling desirable.
Car driver with access to a vehicle to transport equipment across the city essential

There are various posts available in Adult Social Care across 2 different office sites, Kinloss Garth and Wilberforce Health Centre.
The teams are:
Localities- Community based with people who have long term Care and Support needs. Monday- Friday 8.30-5 There will be an expectation of more than 12 community visits being completed week, and a minimum of three days working from the office base.
See and Solve- Office based completing initial screening of referrals. Monday- Friday 8.30-5.
Active Recovery- Community based with people who have short term goals. Monday- Sunday Rota, working one weekend in 3. There will be an expectation of more than 12 community visits being completed week, and a minimum of three days working from the office base.

We are looking for candidates with a strongly related background and experience, such as therapy assistant, associate practitioner, technical instructor (therapy), social care adviser, care officer, Health Care Assistant who has experience with equipment and assessing risk.
