About the Role
We are seeking an organised and proactive Projects Coordinator – Digital & Operations to support the planning, governance, and delivery of digital and
operational programmes across the organisation.
This role plays a key part in ensuring that digital and data projects are well managed, accurately reported, and delivered in line with organisational standards. You will work closely with project managers, the central portfolio office, finance colleagues, and senior leaders to maintain high quality reporting, support governance processes, and oversee the administration of purchase orders and supplier invoices across the Digital, Customer Services and Operations portfolio.
The role combines project coordination, performance and financial reporting, and operational financial administration. This includes raising and tracking purchase orders, monitoring supplier invoices, supporting budget tracking and forecasting, and ensuring timely and accurate processing in line with financial controls.
The role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, improving processes, and supporting teams to deliver complex programmes successfully.
Key Responsibilities
In this role you will:
• Track, monitor and report on digital and data projects and programmes, ensuring accurate and timely information for leadership and governance boards.
• Work closely with the central portfolio office to ensure projects comply with organisational standards, governance processes, and reporting templates.
• Maintain project documentation including plans, RAID logs, dependencies, and benefits tracking.
• Produce dashboards and reports using Microsoft Excel and Power BI to support decision making.
• Coordinate project meetings, actions, and follow-ups to ensure delivery progress is maintained.
• Administer and manage purchase orders, invoices, and supplier queries in line with financial procedures.
• Support the Director of Digital with monthly budget monitoring, including tracking actual spend and forecast expenditure in collaboration with the department’s Finance Business Partner.
• Ensure project data and financial information are accurate, auditable, and aligned with organisational compliance requirements.
• Act as a key contact for project reporting queries and support a collaborative delivery culture across Digital and Operations.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who can manage multiple priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail.
You will ideally have:
• Experience supporting projects, programmes, or PMO functions in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills including formulas, data analysis, and reporting.
• Experience using Power BI, MS Planner, or similar project and reporting tools.
• Experience of budget monitoring, financial tracking, or purchase order administration.
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to coordinate multiple activities and deadlines.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present clear and accurate information to a range of stakeholders.
• A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
Desirable
It would also be beneficial if you have:
• Experience working in local government or the public sector.
• Experience supporting programme or portfolio-level reporting.
• A project management qualification such as PRINCE2, APM, or AgilePM.
