Registered Care Operations Manager

Hours: Full Time – 40 Hours per Week - Monday to Friday | 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

Location: West Midlands
Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 + 5% Discretionary Bonus

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced, motivated Care Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our nursing home and ensure the highest standards of care, compliance, and operational efficiency.

This is an excellent opportunity for a driven professional who enjoys balancing strategic planning with hands-on operational management in a caring and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

Staff Management, Recruitment & HR

• Support safer recruitment processes, including DBS checks, references, and pre-employment health checks
• Oversee staff induction programmes to ensure new employees are supported and trained effectively
• Monitor attendance, absence and performance records
• Conduct staff supervision and annual appraisals
• Coordinate mandatory training and professional development
• Assist with disciplinary processes and investigations where required

Resident Care & Stakeholder Engagement

• Ensure the care, welfare and safety of all residents is maintained to the highest possible standard
• Promote strong relationships between staff, residents and families
• Support resident admissions and assessments
• Ensure individualised care and therapy plans are developed and regularly updated in collaboration with healthcare professionals

Marketing & Occupancy

• Support the promotion and marketing of the home within the care community
• Build strong professional relationships with local authorities and healthcare partners
• Help ensure the home maintains strong occupancy levels and long-term sustainability
• Implement strategies to respond effectively to vacancies and market changes

Financial Management

• Monitor and control operational expenditure
• Assist with annual budget preparation and financial planning
• Manage petty cash budgets and expenditure records
• Support fee negotiations with local authorities, residents or families where appropriate

Facilities & Property Management

• Ensure the physical environment of the home is safe, compliant and well maintained
• Oversee maintenance requests and ensure issues are resolved promptly
• Manage gas, electric and related health & safety certifications in line with regulations
• Maintain accurate facilities and maintenance records

Compliance & Administration

• Ensure all staff and resident records comply with GDPR and regulatory standards
• Maintain recruitment databases and HR documentation
• Support resident admissions and discharge processes
• Assist with audits, reporting and quality improvement activities
• Maintain smooth office operations, including IT systems, supplies and equipment

Operational Leadership

• Work closely with the Responsible Individual and leadership team
• Identify opportunities for operational improvement and cost efficiency
• Support internal communication and team coordination
• Assist with crisis management and emergency procedures when required

About You

We are looking for someone who brings both strong operational management skills and a passion for high-quality care services.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Experience in operations management, ideally within a care home, healthcare or regulated environment
• Registered with CQC (Essential)
• Nursing Qualification (Desired but not essential)
• Strong organisational and administrative skills
• Experience managing HR processes, recruitment and compliance records
• Knowledge of budgeting, cost control and financial monitoring
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and database systems
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Understanding of safeguarding, GDPR and regulatory frameworks
• Ability to work independently while leading teams effectively
• Must be a car owner with a clean & valid licence
