The Senior Research Nurse Alzheimers Society UK Dementia Trials Network (UKDTN) plays a key role in the delivery of earlyphase dementia clinical trials within Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust. The post is based within the NIHR Oxford Health Clinical Research Facility (OH CRF) and works closely with the Memory and Cognition Research Delivery Team to support a growing and complex dementia research portfolio. Clinical research delivery The post holder will coordinate and deliver earlyphase and complex dementia studies from setup to closeout, ensuring all activity is conducted safely, ethically and in line with national and international standards, study protocols, Good Clinical Practice and Trust governance requirements. This includes direct clinical involvement in participant visits, trial assessments, monitoring participant safety, managing adverse events, and acting as a consistent point of contact for participants and carers throughout their research journey. Leadership and team management The role provides clinical and professional leadership to Alzheimers Societyfunded UKDTN Research Nurses and contributes to wider research team leadership within the OH CRF. Responsibilities include daytoday supervision, workload coordination, supporting staff development and competencies, and promoting a positive, safe and highperforming research culture. Study coordination and governance The post holder will work closely with Principal Investigators, R&D, sponsors and delivery teams, and external partners to support study feasibility, setup and delivery. They will ensure highquality documentation, data accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards, and will contribute to audits, inspections, incident management and continuous quality improvement activities. Partnership working and service development A key element of the role is building and maintaining effective working relationships across Oxford Health, Oxford University Hospitals, Alzheimers Society, UKDTN partner sites, memory services, community teams and thirdsector organisations. The post holder will support the development of referral pathways and initiatives that improve access to dementia research and participant experience. National contribution and representation As part of the UKDTN and Alzheimers Society Research Nurse Programme, the post holder will contribute to national objectives, reporting and knowledgesharing. This includes representing Oxford Health at regional, national and international meetings, supporting training and mentorship across the network, and contributing to service reports and programme outputs. The role requires a professional who is organised, resilient and collaborative, able to manage competing priorities, exercise sound clinical judgement, and work confidently across organisational boundaries in a dynamic research environment.
