About the Employer
I am the employer and father to my 32 year old daughter who has complex behavioural issues and associated with her Autism that requires her to have 3-1 support at all times . She has diagnosis of Autism and Challenging behaviour so any candidate applying would need to have experience and knowledge of the characteristics associated and an understanding of the impact this can have on the individual and those providing care. My daughter resides next door to her mother and me in South Tyneside Area. She has her own designated home with separate entrance for access in and out of the property, to facilitate an independent/supported Living Environment. There are two pet dogs in the home. I am seeking an additional staff member to join my comprehensive staff team Given the support and care required, there will option of additional hours/shifts offered to allow for holiday cover/sickness etc. I have a team of health care professionals who visit me regularly to support the staff and they provide a varied training package to develop the staff skills and knowledge. I am seeking to recruit suitably qualified candidates to join our support team. I require a personal assistants who can assist my daughter with the following: • administering medication • manual handling, • all aspects of personal care including bathing, showering and assisting with changing clothes • domestic chores cleaning, cooking etc • domestic Chores around the home to ensure risk of infection is reduced • preparation of meals and drinks • escorting to appointments • escorting and supporting my daughter to access social activities providing companionship • liaising with other people/professionals • delivering support based on the tasks associated to different shifts, including sleep in’s, waking nights and day shifts • working as part of a team • reviewing medication and administering medication – ensuring medication is replenished and in date • restraint Mandatory training will be provided within the first 6 months of employment Ongoing training and extensive support will be offered by the staff team, Senior Personal Assistant & Health Care Professionals involved. Supervisions will be offered. The needs may vary from day to day and your tasks may reflect this. You could be required to perform other duties as reasonably required. I am looking to recruit personal assistants with experience and an interest in working as part of a team and becoming an integral part of my daughter’s day to day life. You will be expected to deliver all aspects of care set out within the care plan and assist her in achieving a fulfilling and meaning life. The ideal candidates would need to demonstrate skills sets such as resilience, team working and flexibility, have a good sense of humour and an outgoing personality. Good communication skills are essential. Full driving license is essential as the role requires you to drive the employer’s vehicle, for insurances purposes you must be a minimum age of 21.

About the Role
Duties and Responsibilities
• Support and/or prompt with personal care. This may include toileting, showering/bathing, getting in and out of bed, getting dressed.
• Support and/or prompt with cooking/meal preparation and eating meals/drinks.
• Support and/or prompt the individual to take medication.
• Assist with household chores and general homemaking.
• Support and/or prompt to attend appointments as necessary, e.g. hospital/doctors.
• Support and/or prompt the individual to access sporting and leisure activities.
• Assist and encourage socialisation, participating in activities.
• Promote and encourage friendships and independence.
• Develop a good and trusting one to one working relationship.
• Support with managing paperwork & correspondence.
Due to the following requirements of the role, only candidates aged 18 or over should apply for this position:
• You will be required to administer medication.
• Shifts may start before and or after 10pm
The individuals needs may vary from day to day and your tasks may reflect this. You could be required to perform other duties as reasonably required.
You have a responsibility as an employee to report all accidents to the employer immediately. You have a duty to report defects and / or hazards which may give rise to an accident. You are to ensure the safety of the individual at all times.
Transport Requirement
Full driving licence is essential as the role requires you to drive the employer’s vehicle, for insurance purpose you must be
