About the Employer

I am both the employer and service user who has been allocated a Direct Payment to enable me to recruit a PA to assist and prompt with day-to-day tasks. I have been allocated 5 hours a week to be used flexibly, to provide me the support I require to access the community, assist me in managing admin, appointments and to motivate and enable me to maintain my home environment. I have severe Learning disabilities which at times affects my confidence and ability to manage certain aspects of general day to day life I am seeking to employ a PA to provide me with support and to assist me in developing and improving daily duties. Someone with good communication skills to prompt, support and assist me in managing my diary, ensuring I keep note of and attend appointments, help with letters and managing prescriptions and prompting me to take medications. The PA would at times assist and prompt me with general housework, assist me in meal plans and shopping as well as offering friendship and support to access social activities. Summary of duties I am looking for a personal assistant to support me with day to day tasks Duties will include: • Assist me with managing and creating routines • Support and prompt to organize diary, appointments and prescriptions • Assist me to appointments • Support and prompt to take medications • Support with shopping, food planning • Attending and supporting activities/social opportunities • To prompt or assist me with light housework duties e.g. washing, emptying washing machine etc: • Assist or support me to help maintain my garden • Promote my self-esteem, confidence and independence My/the needs may vary from day to day and your tasks may reflect this. You could be required to perform other duties as reasonably required. You may be required to undertake any training that is considered necessary and appropriate to your role.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Support and/or prompt with cooking/meal preparation and eating meals/drinks.
• Support and/or prompt the individual to take medication.
• Assist with household chores and general homemaking.
• Support and/or prompt to attend appointments as necessary, e.g. hospital/doctors.
• Support with food shopping.
• Support and/or prompt the individual to access sporting and leisure activities.
• Assist and encourage socialisation, participating in activities.
• Promote and encourage friendships and independence.
• Support with managing paperwork & correspondence.

The individuals needs may vary from day to day and your tasks may reflect this. You could be required to perform other duties as reasonably required.

You have a responsibility as an employee to report all accidents to the employer immediately. You have a duty to report defects and / or hazards which may give rise to an accident. You are to ensure the safety of the individual at all times.

Due to the nature of the work for which you are applying, this post is subject to a satisfactory DBS disclosure (costs will be covered).

Transport Requirement

Car driver preferred but not essential.

• Be self-motivated with a willingness to get involved.
• Have a lively personality.
