Background of department/role

We are looking for a Facilities Manager & Housekeeping Services Coordinator to work alongside the two Facilities Officers within our small and busy team at our Medway Campus, which is part of the wider Facilities & Commercial Services Department at Canterbury Christ Church University.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, friendly, hard-working and efficient person to work at the Medway campus. This Coordinator role holds no supervisor responsibility and will need to have a flexible approach and to be able to meet with the expectations of providing a consistent, quality service to students, staff and external visitors.

The role is varied and no day is ever the same. A flexible and adaptable approach will assist you in this role and along with excellent customer services, communication, forward planning and problem solving are all skills that will be integral to carrying out the Coordinator duties.

Experience of working in a busy customer service environment and good IT knowledge and skills are essential.

How will you work?

You will be responsible for managing your own workload, under the direction of the Asst. Head of FM & HKS. You will be responsible for providing administration support and to undertake several essential facilities management functions that are critical to maintaining a safe, compliant, and operationally resilient campus environment.

The role is full time, Monday-Friday with the working pattern to be agreed with the successful candidate. Occasional weekend work supporting events may be required but sufficient notice will be given with time off in lieu.

Occasional travel to Canterbury main campus may be required where operationally necessary and therefore a driving license is desirable.
