Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist needed in Havering.
Location: Havering, London
Working Pattern: On Site
Contract Type: Temp / Ad‑Hoc
Pay Rate: £30 - £40 per hour
We are seeking an experienced Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist to support a young person in Year 11 in Havering. This role is to start ASAP and will involve providing both direct and indirect weekly intervention for a young person with an EHCP, a diagnosis of ASD, and social communication difficulties.
You will work collaboratively with the school, family, and relevant professionals to ensure effective, needs‑led support aligned with the young person's EHCP outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1 hour direct Speech and Language Therapy per week.
* Provide 1 hour indirect support per week (liaison, resources, planning, reporting).
* Deliver specialist intervention for ASD and social communication needs.
* Liaise with school staff, family and local authority professionals.
* Contribute to EHCP reviews where required.
* Maintain accurate clinical notes and comply with all safeguarding standards.
Requirements:
- BSc/MSc in Speech and Language Therapy.
* HCPC registration (essential).
* Minimum 2 years' paediatric SLT experience.
* Experience supporting children and young people with SEND, including ASD and social communication needs.
* Strong assessment, planning, and communication skills.
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
* Professional indemnity & public liability insurance.
Desirable:
- RCSLT membership.
* Experience within secondary education settings.
* Knowledge of sensory needs and multidisciplinary working.
* Experience providing advice and strategies to families or schools.
Additional Information:
- Weekly requirement: 2 hours per week (1 hour direct, 1 hour indirect).
* Flexible working within school timetable.
* All safeguarding and vetting checks must be completed prior to starting.
