The difference you will make as a Resident Safety Surveyor - Fire Safety and PEEPs
The Resident Safety Surveyor - Fire Safety and PEEPs is a specialist role responsible for ensuring that all residents who may require assistance during an emergency are identified, assessed, and supported through the creation of compliant and person-centred Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (PEEPs).

You will perform comprehensive, sensitive, and legally aligned person-centred fire risk assessments (PCFRAs) for vulnerable residents, identifying tailored mitigation measures that reduce fire and evacuation risk across the organisation’s housing stock. This role is central to meeting emerging legal obligations under the Fire Safety (England) Regulations, new Residential PEEPs requirements, the Building Safety Act, and employer duties relating to vulnerable occupants. It ensures that residents with disabilities, cognitive impairment, sensory needs, mobility limitations, or other vulnerabilities have a safe and effective means of evacuation-enhancing resident safety, organisational compliance and confidence in our safety management system.

The role works collaboratively across Housing, Care & Support, Safety, Compliance and Emergency Planning Teams, ensuring accurate, ethical and secure handling of resident information while maintaining a strong customer focused approach.

About you
We are looking for someone with:
• Extensive experience in the building industry, ideally working within a customer focussed housing repair, maintenance, planned or compliance team with a strong understanding of building maintenance terminology and repair activities.
• Experience in fire safety, housing, building safety, adult social care, or a similar compliance focused field.
• Strong understanding of fire safety principles, human behaviour in fire, and vulnerability risk factors.
• Experience conducting structured assessments with residents, including gathering sensitive information.
• Ability to identify reasonable adjustments, behavioural mitigation and emergency planning solutions
• Holder of a current, valid UK driving licence with access to a vehicle, when required.
