Community Safety Officer

We are currently looking for a Community Safety Officer to join One Vision Housing, part of The Sovini Group.

As a Community Safety Officer, you will be expected to:

• Develop and deliver effective ASB processes, working with OVH teams, and partner agencies. Reviewing and updating ASB policies, coordinating multi agency legal remedies, gathering evidence, preparing case files and representing in court where needed. This post supports victims and communities, contributes to problem solving groups, reports on performance and promotes ASB initiatives, whilst ensuring equality, diversity and health & safety standards are met alongside meeting organisational objectives.
• Commit to equality and diversity and to promote non-discriminatory practices in all aspects of work undertaken.
• Adhere with the Health and Safety at Work Act to take reasonable care of own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their acts and omissions.

To be successful in a Community Safety Officer role, the skills you will need:
• Educated to Level 3 (5 GCSEs A–C or equivalent).
• CIH qualified or working willingness towards.
• Willingness to work outside normal office hours to investigate/monitor cases.
• Willingness to travel across all OVH/Sovini operational areas.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
• Managing anti social behaviour (ASB) cases, including use of case management systems.
• Applying legal and non legal remedies to ASB complaints.
• Giving evidence in court.
• Working in multi agency partnerships to prevent and resolve ASB
• Delivering ASB related projects and achieving measurable outcomes.
• Strong knowledge of housing and ASB legislation, best practice, and policy developments including Remedies available to Registered Social Landlords and partner agencies, Community safety approaches, Data Protection requirements, Human Rights considerations, Respect Charter and HCA regulatory standard
• Ability to translate strategies into action plans, including monitoring and recording performance.
• Strong problem solving skills with ability to develop innovative ASB solutions.
• Ability to prioritise workload, adapt to changing situations, and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills, able to communicate across multiple channels including Microsoft Teams, Face to Face and Email.

Experience or Knowledge of the below would be advantageous but not essential:

• Experience delivering staff/customer training or workshops.
• Previous experience in social housing.
