Join Our Team as a Mental Health Support Worker!
Do you enjoy supporting people to improve their mental wellbeing and tackling health inequalities within local communities?
As a Mental Health Support Worker within the Leeds Mental Wellbeing Service (LMWS), you’ll play a vital role within Leeds locality-based Local Care Partnerships, working as part of the multi-agency, multi-disciplinary team to support the mental wellbeing of diverse communities. You’ll use a range of engagement and delivery techniques to help increase the inclusivity of the LMWS, with a particular focus on communities most affected by poor mental health and wider social inequalities.
You’ll provide short-term one-to-one support, carry out proactive community outreach, support the delivery of open-access and targeted drop-ins and hold helpful, informed conversations with individuals, carers and referrers to guide people to the most appropriate support. You’ll also contribute to a trauma-informed, person-centred approach across the service.
Who we’re looking for:
• Experience working within the mental health sector, working directly with clients with complex needs or enduring mental health difficulties
• Experience of providing one-to-one community-based support to people from disadvantaged communities
• Ability to build and maintain positive relationships whilst maintaining professional boundaries.
