A personal assistant is required to support a 15-yr old male with ASD to access activities in the community. The role consists of taking him to the cinema, theatre, museums, swimming, and going for walks in the park etc. In the home environment he enjoys gaming with his PlayStation. The young male has limited speech but can communicate and understand. He also has an awareness of danger and will not run off when he is out.
The role is more suited to someone who has a car to take him to activities and have fun times with him indoors.
Local knowledge of activities would be advantageous but not essential but going to the cinema is a must.
TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED
- Empathetic and motivational with a cheerful outlook
- Someone who will enjoy being part of my development.
- Confidant & social
- Flexible
- Enjoys cinema/theatre (although not essential!)
- Car owner/driver
HOURS OF WORK
- 4 weekend hours per week or flexible hours & days that can be negotiated following a successful interview.
RATE OF PAY
- £13.45 per hour
- Petrol @ 0.45p/mile (when taking me out in community)
