Behaviour Mentor - SEMH Provision
Location: Leeds
Contract: Temporary to Permanent, Monday - Friday (8:30am - 3:30pm), Term Time Only
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: £90 - £100 per day
NextGen Teachers are recruiting for a Behaviour Mentor to join a specialist SEMH provision in Leeds, supporting Key Stage 3 and 4 pupils who are unable to access mainstream education.
This role focuses on supporting pupils with emotional regulation and engagement in learning through structured routines, movement breaks, and positive regulation strategies.
You will build strong relationships with pupils, provide 1:1 and small group support, and help create a calm, safe environment where young people can develop confidence and self-regulation skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour strategies
- Deliver movement breaks, sensory activities, and regulation techniques
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to help pupils re-engage with learning
- Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to support pupil wellbeing
- Promote a calm, structured, and positive learning environment
Requirements
- Experience supporting young people with SEMH or behavioural needs
- Calm, patient, and resilient approach
- Strong relationship-building skills
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Understanding of safeguarding
