Prospero Teaching is proud to be supporting a nurturing, inclusive SEN primary school in Winchester as they seek a passionate SEN Class Teacher to join their team from September 2026.
The school provides a supportive, child‑centred environment for primary‑aged pupils with a wide range of additional needs, including severe learning difficulties (SLD), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), communication needs, physical disabilities, and complex medical needs. Staff work closely with families, therapists, and external professionals to ensure every child receives personalised, holistic support that enables them to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
About the Role
- Deliver high‑quality, individualised teaching to pupils with a range of complex needs
- Plan and deliver an engaging, multi‑sensory curriculum aligned with pupils' EHCP outcomes
- Create and adapt resources to support communication, accessibility, and meaningful engagement
- Foster pupils' physical, emotional, and social development through consistent routines and nurturing relationships
- Work collaboratively with therapists, medical teams, support staff, and families to provide coordinated, holistic care
- Promote independence, communication, and wellbeing through highly differentiated teaching approaches
- Contribute positively to a collaborative, supportive team within a specialist primary setting
What We're Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching pupils with SEND, ideally within a special school or complex needs environment
- Strong understanding of sensory learning, PMLD pedagogy, and inclusive practice
- Confidence supporting pupils with physical or medical needs (training provided)
- Creativity, resilience, and a warm, nurturing approach
- A genuine passion for helping every child achieve their full potential

- Position: SEN Class Teacher (Primary)
- Start Date: September 2026
- Contract: Full‑time, permanent
- Hours: Monday-Friday 08:00am - 16:00pm
- Pay: MPR/UPR + SEN allowance
