The Opportunity:
Long Term Futures are seeking a resilient and proactive Behaviour Mentor to join a supportive secondary school in the Lewisham area.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about helping young people overcome behavioural and emotional barriers to learning. You will work closely with pupils who require additional support with behaviour, engagement, and emotional regulation, helping them develop positive habits and successfully access education.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small-group mentoring for pupils with behavioural or emotional needs
- Implement behaviour support strategies and de-escalation techniques
- Support pupils in managing emotions and developing positive coping strategies
- Promote positive behaviour, resilience, and engagement with learning
- Work alongside teachers and pastoral staff to support behaviour management in lessons
- Monitor and record pupil progress and behaviour outcomes
Requirements:
- Experience working with young people in a school, mentoring, youth work, or support role
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills
- Calm, resilient, and consistent approach in challenging situations
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils from diverse backgrounds
- Understanding of safeguarding, wellbeing, and behaviour support strategies
