Reception SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Haringey, North London (excellent transport links)
Start Date: ASAP
Pay: £105 - £125 per day (depending on experience)
Contract: Long-term, full-time

About the Role

Long Term Futures are seeking a Reception SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Haringey.

This is a long-term role starting as soon as possible, supporting a Reception class with several pupils who have Autism (ASD) and Speech, Language & Communication Needs (SLCN). The role is not a 1:1 position, but instead involves supporting key children within the class who require additional support with communication, engagement, and social development.

You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to help create a supportive learning environment, implementing strategies that help pupils with ASD and speech and language needs access the Early Years curriculum.

Key Responsibilities
- Support Reception pupils with ASD and speech and language needs within the classroom
- Assist with communication strategies and structured learning activities
- Help pupils develop social skills, emotional regulation, and engagement with learning
- Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider support staff
- Encourage independence and positive classroom participation

Requirements
- Previous experience working with children with ASD or additional needs is highly desirable
- A patient, nurturing, and proactive approach to supporting young learners
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Graduates looking to take the next step into education and support vulnerable children are encouraged to apply
