The home offers 119 purpose designed bedrooms across three floors and provides complex nursing care, specialist dementia support and residential mental health care within a safe, structured and supportive environment focused on dignity, stability and wellbeing.

The Role
As Head Chef, you will take overall responsibility for the day to day management of the kitchen, ensuring residents receive nutritious, well balanced and high quality meals that meet their individual dietary needs.
You will lead the kitchen team in preparing and serving both hot and cold meals while ensuring food is presented to a high standard and delivered in line with residents’ preferences and care requirements. Working closely with the Home Manager and wider team, you will develop menus that provide variety, balanced nutrition and accommodate specialist dietary requirements.
You will oversee food preparation and kitchen operations, ensuring all food hygiene, safety and infection control standards are maintained at all times. You will monitor food stock levels, check deliveries, ensure correct stock rotation and manage food storage safely.
You will also maintain accurate kitchen records including temperature monitoring, food safety documentation and stock control records. In addition, you will supervise and support the kitchen team, ensuring staff follow safe working practices and maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen.
Your role will play an important part in residents’ wellbeing, helping to ensure meals provide comfort, nutrition and enjoyment within the home’s structured and supportive environment.
What We Are Looking For
- City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or equivalent culinary qualification
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
- Previous experience leading or supervising a kitchen team
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to manage food preparation and kitchen operations effectively
- Experience working within a care home or healthcare environment is desirable but not essential
